Day 2 Liberty City Seven Pre-Trial: Bond Denied - Strong Case of Conspiracy
The second day of the Liberty City Seven pre-trial bond hearing. On Friday the Liberty City Seven plead “not guilty” and their defense attorneys started questioning the government witness for the prosecution. Today all five defense attorneys resumed their questioning in the hopes of proving their case, that their clients did not actually participate or were not involved in the conspiracy outside of taking the al-Qaida “oath” and should therefore be entitled to bond. Why Torture?
Recently a Washington Post associate editor proposed that President Bush and others in his administration who support torture (or as the administration likes to phrase it "harsh interrogation techniques") should go through the sanctioned techniques themselves. (image/jpeg + 1 comment)

Why Bobby Meade "Fools of Babylon" posts are hidden. Duh!
Why are Bobby Meade's "Fools of Babylon" posts moved to the Miami IMC "View Hidden Posts" section? Well........(1) Bobby's posts hold no informational or editorial value. (2) Bobby's posts are hateful and offensive. (3) Bobby has been known to "mega-spam" other IMC newswires. Twice within the last month, he has posted more than 50 copies of a rant to the Global IMC newswire. (image/jpeg + 1 comment)

Miami joins 50 + cities in "Walk to Save Farm Animals" Sunday October 7th
On Sunday, October 7, at 4:30 PM South Florida residents will meet outside Wild Oats at 1020 Alton Road in Miami Beach to join Farm Sanctuary, the nation’s leading farm animal protection organization, for the annual Walk for Farm Animals. Mr. Clucky and his pal Mark Buckley are slated to lead the Miami Walk. This fun and inspiring celebration is being sponsored in over 50 cities across North America. Rev. Billy Graham: A Prince of War Exposed
The Rev. Billy Graham, a darling of the Evangelical Right, has never seen a U.S. war that he couldn’t bless. He once advocated that President Richard M. Nixon bomb the “dikes” in the north of Vietnam. He also criticized the Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. for speaking out against the war. A new book, “The Prince of War: Billy Graham’s Crusade for a Wholly Christian Empire,” by Cecil Bothwell exposes the camera-mugging preacher as a serial warmonger. (image/gif + 1 comment)

100,000 March Against Iraq War in Washington, 200 Arrested in Dramitic Mass Die-In
Yesterday, nearly 100,000 people -- led by anti-war Iraq veterans, military families and others -- marched from the White House to the Capitol in Washington, D.C. to demand an immediate end to the occupation of Iraq. The march concluded with a dramatic "die-in" of 5,000 people surrounding the Capitol. Almost 200 people were arrested when police prevented them taking an anti-war message to Congress. Day 1 Liberty City Seven Pre-Trial: The government’s first witness takes the stand.
On the first day of the Liberty City Seven pre-trial 6 of the 7 defendants plead “Not Guilty”. The prosecution opened with their indictment which sounded ironclad. I silently said to myself, these guys are in real trouble. Then a defense attorney starts to question the government's first witness, the representative FBI agent who is one of the three Liberty City Seven case agents, and slowly the case against the 7 starts to crumble. text Afghanistan, the CIA, bin Laden, and the Taliban thirdworldtraveler 2007-08-18 10:06 AM
The U.S. government was well aware of the Taliban's reactionary program, yet it chose to back their rise to power in the mid-1990s. The creation of the Taliban was "actively encouraged by the ISI and the CIA," according to Selig Harrison, an expert on U.S. relations with Asia. "The United States encouraged Saudi Arabia and Pakistan to support the Taliban, certainly right up to their advance on Kabul," adds respected journalist Ahmed Rashid. When the Taliban took power, State Department spokesperson Glyn Davies said that he saw "nothing objectionable" in the Taliban's plans to impose strict Islamic law, and Senator Hank Brown, chair of the Senate Foreign Relations Subcommittee on the Near East and South Asia, welcomed the new regime: "The good part of what has happened is that one of the factions at last seems capable of developing a new government in Afghanistan." "The Taliban will probably develop like the Saudis. There will be Aramco [the consortium of oil companies that controlled Saudi oil], pipelines, an emir, no parliament and lots of Sharia law. We can live with that," said another U.S. diplomat in 1997. (text/plain + 1 comment)
