President Obama has fallen far short of fulfilling has campaign promises that led him to victory in 2008; however, approaching U.S. Election 2012, the field of Republican presidential candidates is the worse since 1964; according to Stewart Alexander. Some members in the Republican leadership are already writing off the 2012 Election and are setting their hopes on 2016. By 2012, President Obama could win the presidential election by a landslide.

Socialists across the nation believe President Barack Obama should have a challenge from the left in the 2012 Election; and looking ahead, it doesn’t appear that President Obama will have too many concerns regarding a Republican presidential rival. U.S. Presidential Candidate Stewart Alexander says “the Republican presidential candidates are failing to make a distinction between themselves and the Democrats or Obama’s policies.”

According to Wikipedia, United States presidential election of 1964, “Johnson (D), who had successfully associated himself with Kennedy’s popularity, won 61.1% of the popular vote, the highest by a candidate since 1820. It was the sixth-most lopsided presidential election in the history of the United States in terms of electoral votes; in terms of popular votes, it was the fifth-most.”

The list of Republican presidential hopefuls is like a Who’s Who on Fox News. There are at least 30 potential candidates that could be added to the list of candidates; however, staying with the short list, there is former vice presidential candidate, Sarah Palin, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, former Governor, Mitt Romney, Congressman Ron Paul,” Governor Tim Pawlenty, former Senator Rick Santorum, and Congresswoman Michele Bachmann, who made the statement that “We now have a total gangster government.” Billionaire Donald Trump was a one issue candidate and has now dropped out of the race.

There are few differences between President Obama and most of his Republican rivals. Most of Obama’s Republican challengers support the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, his rivals support maintaining the prison camp at Guantanamo Bay. They all support Obama’s War on Terror. President Obama’s rivals have supported the bank bailouts. Obama’s Republican rivals have supported the extension of the Bush tax cuts that has only created more wealth for the rich with little benefits for working people. Like President Obama, his Republican rivals have failed to produce a plan that would create good paying jobs for America’s working class.

President Obama’s Republican rivals have not produced a plan that will create good paying jobs for U.S. auto workers. Obama’s Republican rivals have failed to produce a plan that will create jobs for millions of U.S. construction workers. Obama’s Republican rivals have not offered any plans that would regulate big oil companies as working people continue to be held hostage at the pumps. The Republican presidential candidates, like their party, are failing to present an agenda that will address the needs of working people.

Campaign funding is another challenge Obama’s Republican rivals must consider. Corporate America and Wall Street are prepared to finance President Obama’s presidential campaign to the tune of $1 billion; which is expected to be the most expensive campaign ever. Obama’s Republican rivals will need to do more than rub corporate elbows and manage phone banks to compete with Obama’s connections on Wall Street.

Stewart Alexander says, “Unless there is a 2012 presidential candidate that can challenge President Obama from the left, to challenge Obama’s record, 2012 could be the biggest landslide presidential victory since Franklin D. Roosevelt was elected to the White House in 1936; during the middle of the Great Depression and preceding WWII.”
