The King Mango Strut is baaack!!! for the 27th time to bring much needed mental climate change on Sunday, December 28th at 2pm in downtown Coconut Grove. Parade route includes Commodore Plaza, Main Highway and Grand Avenue. This year's Grand Marshal is Mr. Clucky, the famous rooster, who was voted "Best Activist of 2008 in the Tri-county Area" by City Link Magazine.

CAUTION: No one and nothing is safe from parody and satire at the King Mango Strut. Proceed at your own risk.
The King Mango Strut is the most fun event Miami has to offer, full of irreverent, creative and wacky people and lots of opportunity to make fun of everything and anything. There is no better place for strutting than in Miami. It provides more material that we could ever use. As creative as we are, even we couldn't come up with some of this stuff.
Starting at 2PM, get set for a fabtastic afternoon at the 27th King Mango Strut, where news and satire collide on the streets of Coconut Grove. The King Mango Strut is the most fun event Miami has to offer, full of irreverent, creative and wacky people and lots of opportunity to make fun of everything and anything. There is no better place for the King Mango Strut than Miami, Florida, the axis of the Axis of Weirdness. It provides more material that we could ever use. As creative as the MangoHeads are, even they couldn't come up with some of this stuff.
Expect to see the usual Strut suspects: The Hare Krishnas, the Marching Freds, The Will Thomas Band, RoadKill Band, the Progressive New Orleans's Funeral Band, the Mocko Jumbi, the Little Miss Mangoes and the former Miss Mangoes (Miss Judged, Miss Demeanor, Miss Aligned, Miss Appropriate, etc...)
All parade goers should arrive early this year to go through security checkpoint. Like the US Military, we have privatized security. MangoWater will be patrolling the parade route.
The strut route begins at the corner of Commodore Plaza and Main Highway. It turns left onto Main Highway and then turns left onto Grand Avenue at Cocowalk and turn left again at Commodore Plaza. If we are having too much fun we will go around again until we all fall down. Right after the strut, there will be parties all around the Grove.
All this entertainment is free (cheaper than a therapist) and open to the public. There is plenty of parking along or near the parade route at CocoWalk, Mayfair, Coconut Grove Playhouse, St. Stephens Episcopal Church, Coconut Grove Elementary School, the Municipal Garage at Oak Avenue and Mary Street, and he Sonesta Hotel’s public garage.
If you don't want to drive (who can blame you,) take the Metrorail to the Coconut Grove Station. There will be shuttle buses (the Coconut Grove Circulator) picking up eager parade goers every 15 minutes at the station and dropping them one block from the parade route.
