In addition to this being our regular monthly protest against the war (held the last Thursday of every month), this month we will be standing in local solidarity with the huge protests in New York City against the Republican National Convention and the whole Bush agenda! PLEASE COME BY TO GIVE AN ENTHUSIASTIC SEND-OFF TO SOUTH FLORIDA ACTIVISTS CARAVANING THERE! (BTW, should you decide right now you want to go to NYC AND you have a vehicle with room for others, call Ray IMMEDIATELY at 954-438-1321).
The largest demonstration will be the march and rally on Sunday which the Bloomberg administration is attempting to deny legal access to Central Park and has tried to force protesters to the elevated Westside Hwy.
Members of the press are also invited to interview local activists travelling to New York or other local protesters of this murderous war in Iraq.
Afterwards, please join us at a sign-making party (BYO refreshments) at 7:30pm at the Gay & Lesbian Community Center, 1717 No. Andrews Ave., Ft. Lauderdale. We'll be making signs for our next protest: the following Thursday (Sept. 2nd, 5:00pm-6:30pm) at the military recruiting center in Lauderhill (1406 State Rd. 7/US-441, east side of road, just north of the Swap Shop--more on this action later!)
Best Regards, Jack Lieberman
